Jawazat Clarifies the Conditions for Electronic Authorization through Absher.
Saudi Jawazat clarifies the conditions and services available under electronic authorization through the Absher platform.
Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has clarified the conditions for using its electronic authorization service through the Absher platform.
The service allows a beneficiary to authorize another person to visit Jawazat and complete certain passport-related transactions on their behalf, reducing the need for the beneficiary to attend in person.
According to an official Jawazat infographic, the authorized person must be a Saudi citizen.

Both the person granting the authorization and the authorized person must also have active accounts on the Absher platform.
Jawazat further clarified that a beneficiary can authorize only one person for each service.
The electronic authorization can be cancelled whenever necessary, giving beneficiaries flexibility if they no longer require the authorized person to complete the transaction.
Jawazat said the service is designed to save time and effort and help beneficiaries complete their transactions at the specified time.
A range of passport-related transactions can be handled through electronic authorization. These include issuing and cancelling travel permits for dependents, reporting lost or damaged passports, issuing and renewing Iqamas, and collecting Iqamas after printing.
Other services include issuing and cancelling exit/re-entry and final exit visas, reporting lost Iqamas or resident passports, reporting absent workers, and adding or separating dependents.
The authorization service also covers procedures such as changing a dependent to head of household, profession changes, service transfers, information transfers, visit visa extensions, and passport issuance, renewal and collection.
Other eligible transactions include registering an individual as “Exited and Did Not Return,” authorizing Muqeem services and checking previous passports.
Additional requirements may apply depending on the particular transaction being authorized, including requirements related to the validity of identification documents and other applicable conditions.
