GACA Tells Airlines to Verify Passenger Documents Before Boarding

Saudi Arabia’s GACA has instructed airlines to verify passengers’ required travel documents, including entry and transit requirements, before boarding.

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has instructed airlines operating at Saudi airports to make sure passengers have all required travel documents before they are allowed to board.

Under the new circular, airlines and private aviation operators must check the latest entry, exit, and transit requirements that apply to each passenger’s journey.

This includes requirements in the passenger’s destination country as well as any country where they will transit.

Airlines have been told to verify these requirements through official government sources and approved regulations.

Before boarding, carriers must ensure passengers have the documents required for their journey. Depending on the destination, these may include a valid passport, visa, transit visa, residence permit, or other required travel documents.

For travelers, the message is simple: check the entry and transit requirements for your entire journey before heading to the airport. Missing documents could result in being denied boarding.

GACA also reminded airlines operating in Saudi Arabia that they must comply with all applicable circulars, orders, and instructions issued by the authority.
