Saudi Arabia Package Visa: Eligibility, Cost, Requirements and How to Apply
Saudi Package Visa guide covering eligible countries, costs, requirements, validity, and how to apply.
Saudi Arabia’s Package Visa offers travelers from selected countries a simplified way to obtain a tourist visa by booking their flight, hotel and visa together as one travel package.
The service is particularly useful for travelers who may not qualify for Saudi Arabia’s regular instant tourist eVisa. Instead of arranging the visa separately, eligible visitors can purchase an approved travel package and complete the visa process as part of the booking.
The Package Visa is currently available to passport holders of seven countries:
- India
- Pakistan
- Bangladesh
- Indonesia
- Egypt
- Jordan
- Mexico
Saudi Arabia is expected to add more nationalities to the service in future phases.
What Is the Saudi Package Visa?
The Package Visa combines the main requirements for a Saudi holiday into a single booking.
Instead of obtaining a tourist visa first and then separately arranging flights and accommodation, travelers purchase an eligible package from an approved provider.
The package includes the round-trip flight, qualifying hotel accommodation and tourist visa application. Mandatory medical insurance is included with the visa.
Once the booking and verification process is completed, the tourist visa is issued electronically and sent to the traveler.
Saudi Package Visa Fee
According to the current Visit Saudi information, the visa fee is SAR 402.21, including applicable fees.
The application fee and medical insurance fee are included in this visa amount.
However, travelers should understand that SAR 402.21 is only the visa-related fee, not the total cost of the travel package.
To qualify for the Package Visa, the overall package must meet a minimum value.
Minimum Package Cost
The minimum package value is:
SAR 4,000 per adult for the first two days, followed by at least SAR 1,000 for each additional day.
For example, the minimum qualifying value would be:
| Trip duration | Minimum package value per adult |
|---|
These are minimum qualifying package values rather than a fixed price for every trip. The actual amount can be higher depending on flights, hotels, dates, destinations and other services selected.
What Must the Package Include?
A qualifying Package Visa booking must include:
- A confirmed round-trip flight
- Confirmed hotel accommodation
- Online tourist visa application
- Medical insurance
The hotel must be licensed by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism and rated at least four stars.
Travelers may also add activities, events, experiences and other tourism services offered by the travel provider.
Package Visa Validity
The Package Visa is a single-entry tourist visa.
It is valid for three months from the travel start date.
This means it should not be confused with Saudi Arabia’s multiple-entry tourist visas available to travelers who meet other eligibility conditions.
The minimum package duration is two days, while the maximum package duration is 88 days.
Family and Children
Families can also use the Package Visa service.
Up to five children under the age of 18 can accompany an eligible traveler under a package.
Children are not included when calculating the minimum package value requirement.
For example, the SAR 4,000 minimum for the first two days applies per adult rather than requiring an additional SAR 4,000 minimum for each accompanying child.
How to Apply for a Saudi Package Visa
Travelers should first visit the Saudi tourism website and use the visa eligibility checker.
Select your nationality and answer the questions regarding any other visas or residency permits you hold.
If the Package Visa option is available, you can proceed to one of the approved travel providers.
The application process generally involves five stages:
- Choose your travel package – Select a ready-made package or customize the trip where available.
- Upload your documents – Provide your passport details and personal photograph.
- Complete payment – Pay for the flight, accommodation and associated package costs.
- Verification – Your eligibility and submitted information are checked electronically.
- Receive the eVisa – Once approved, the tourist visa is issued electronically and sent to you.
Travelers should make sure that all passport information entered during the booking process is correct before making payment.
Which Travel Companies Offer the Package Visa?
At present, Visit Saudi lists Almosafer and Reserval as travel providers for the Package Visa program.
Almosafer allows travelers to build personalized trips, including multi-destination itineraries and separate flight and hotel options.
Reserval similarly allows eligible travelers to select flights, hotels and their Saudi tourist visa as part of one package.
More approved providers could be added as the program expands.
How Long Does the Visa Take?
The electronic tourist visa is processed after the package purchase and verification have been completed.
Visa processing is expected to be completed within a maximum of 48 hours after completing the package purchase and verification.
Travelers therefore need to purchase their package sufficiently in advance. The current eligibility requirements state that travel should begin at least 48 hours after the package purchase is completed.
Can You Choose Your Own Flight and Hotel?
The booking platforms provide options for selecting available flights and hotels while building the qualifying package.
For example, a traveler departing from India may be able to select their departure airport, destination in Saudi Arabia, preferred flight and an eligible hotel.
However, the accommodation must satisfy the Package Visa requirements, including the minimum four-star rating and Ministry of Tourism licensing.
The hotel booking should also cover the required stay associated with the travel itinerary.
Can Package Visa Holders Visit Makkah and Madinah?
The Package Visa travel packages exclude Makkah and Madinah as package destinations.
However, this does not mean a Package Visa holder is prohibited from traveling to the two cities after entering Saudi Arabia.
Eligible visitors can travel within the Kingdom, including Makkah and Madinah, subject to the normal rules governing access to the holy sites.
The Package Visa itself should not be confused with an Umrah package, and the tourism package does not include Umrah services.
What Happens If the Package Is Cancelled?
The tourist visa is directly connected to the qualifying travel package.
Once the visa has been issued, its details cannot simply be amended independently of the package.
If the underlying travel package is cancelled after visa issuance, the associated visa is also revoked.
Travelers should therefore carefully check the flight dates, passenger details, hotel and other booking information before completing their purchase.
Is the Package Visa Worth It?
The Package Visa provides another route for travelers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Egypt, Jordan and Mexico who want to visit Saudi Arabia for tourism.
Its biggest advantage is convenience: the flight, hotel and tourist visa are handled through one integrated booking process, without the traveler having to make a separate tourist visa application.
However, it is not necessarily the cheapest Saudi tourist visa option.
The minimum package requirement of SAR 4,000 per adult for the first two days, plus SAR 1,000 for every additional day, means travelers who already qualify for Saudi Arabia’s regular tourist eVisa or another easier visa route should compare their options before booking.
For travelers who choose the Package Visa route, the process provides a straightforward alternative: select an approved travel package, submit the required information, complete payment and receive the electronic tourist visa following verification.
