The announcement applies to employees working in both the private sector and non-profit sector across the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia celebrates National Day on September 23 each year, marking the unification of the Kingdom under King Abdulaziz and the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932.

The ministry said the holiday is granted in accordance with Article 24 of the Executive Regulations of the Saudi Labor Law.

It also reminded employers that they must comply with the provisions stipulated in the second paragraph of the same article.

With September 23 falling on a Wednesday in 2026, private-sector employees covered by the announcement will receive the official National Day holiday in the middle of the working week.
