Saudi Arabia Deports 3 Expats for Transporting Passengers Without Licence
Saudi Arabia deported three expats and imposed SAR 35,000 in fines for passenger transport violations involving private vehicles.
Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority (TGA) has announced the deportation of three expatriates for violations related to transporting passengers in private vehicles without the required licences.
The three violators were also fined a combined SAR 35,000, according to the authority.
Two of the violators, an Egyptian national and an Indian national, were found transporting passengers using private cars without obtaining the necessary licence.
Each was fined SAR 12,000 and ordered to be deported from Saudi Arabia.
The third violator, a Chadian national, was fined SAR 11,000 and also ordered to be deported.
According to the TGA, his violation involved carrying out preparatory activities to transport passengers in a private vehicle without a licence.
The authority stressed that engaging in passenger transportation activities without the required licence is a violation of Saudi regulations.
It said inspections and enforcement campaigns will continue to curb unlicensed passenger transport and improve compliance in the sector, helping enhance the quality and safety of transportation services.
The TGA also noted that Saudi Arabia’s Land Transport on Roads Law prohibits carrying out transport activities without the necessary licence. The law allows deportation to be included among the penalties imposed on non-Saudi violators.
The authority urged residents and other passengers to use licensed transport providers and authorised transportation services available in the Kingdom.
