Bangladesh Passport Ranks 98th, With Access to 35 Destinations

Bangladesh passport ranks 98th in the 2026 Henley Passport Index, with access to 35 destinations through visa-free, VOA and ETA entry.

Bangladesh’s passport currently ranks 98th globally in the 2026 Henley Passport Index, according to data published by Henley & Partners.

The ranking represents an improvement of two places from 2025, when Bangladesh was ranked 100th globally.

Bangladeshi passport holders currently have access to 35 destinations without obtaining a traditional visa before travel, through a combination of visa-free entry, visa on arrival (VOA) and electronic travel authorization (ETA).

Among the destinations offering visa-free access are Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Cook Islands, Dominica, Fiji, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Kiribati, Micronesia, Montserrat, Rwanda, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, The Bahamas, The Gambia, Trinidad and Tobago and Vanuatu.

Bangladeshi travelers can also obtain a visa on arrival at a number of destinations, including Burundi, Cambodia, Comoro Islands, Djibouti, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Maldives, Nepal, Niue, Samoa, Timor-Leste and Tuvalu.

Several destinations are accessible through an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), including Kenya, Seychelles, Sri Lanka and St. Kitts and Nevis.

In addition, many countries offer e-visas to Bangladeshi passport holders. These include countries such as Bahrain, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Singapore, Thailand, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan and Vietnam, among others.

E-visas are different from visa-free, VOA and ETA access because travelers generally need to apply for and receive the visa electronically before travelling. They are therefore not included in the passport’s 35-destination Henley mobility score.

Bangladesh’s passport ranking has changed considerably in recent years. It ranked 108th in 2021, improved to 103rd in 2022 and 101st in 2023.

The country moved further up to 97th in 2024, slipped to 100th in 2025, and has now improved to 98th in 2026.

The Henley Passport Index ranks passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without obtaining a conventional visa in advance. The ranking is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), supplemented by research from Henley & Partners.

Visa and entry requirements can change, so travelers are advised to check the latest requirements of their destination before booking or travelling.
