Silver Rate in Saudi Arabia Today
Live silver prices per gram in Saudi riyals for 999 fine, 958 Britannia, 925 sterling and 800 silver, with tola, troy ounce and kilogram conversions. The same rates are also shown in US dollars.
How the silver rate in KSA is produced
Silver, like gold, is quoted internationally in US dollars per troy ounce. The ounce price is divided by 31.1035 grams to give a price per gram, then converted into riyals at the current SAR exchange rate. The riyal's peg to the dollar means local silver prices move almost entirely with the global market.
There is no official Saudi silver price. The figure on this page is the same reference any shop in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam is working from, fetched live into your browser and stamped with the time it was retrieved.
What the purity grades mean
999 silver is 99.9% pure and is the base rate shown on this page. 958 Britannia silver is 95.8%, 925 sterling silver is 92.5%, and 800 traditional silver is 80%, so each grade is simply the pure rate multiplied by its fineness.
Sterling silver, stamped 925, is the standard for jewellery and silverware in Saudi Arabia because the small amount of alloy makes it far harder than pure silver. Prices quoted by weight for a tola, an ounce or a kilogram use the same per-gram base multiplied up.
What is not included in this price
The rates are bare metal. Making charges, the retailer's margin, stones and 15% VAT on jewellery and silverware all come on top at the point of sale, while qualifying investment silver sold as bullion is treated differently for VAT.
Silver is more volatile than gold because it has heavy industrial demand in solar panels and electronics as well as investment demand, so the price can move further and faster in a single session. Check the timestamp above the results before acting on any figure.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the silver price in Saudi Arabia today?
- The page shows the live market reference rate per gram in riyals, converted from the international dollar price. It is fetched when the page loads and you can pull a fresh figure with the refresh button at any time.
- How is the 925 silver price worked out?
- 925 sterling silver is 92.5% pure, so its price is the 999 fine silver rate multiplied by 0.925. The table on this page applies that factor to every weight automatically.
- How much is one tola of silver in Saudi Arabia?
- One tola is 11.664 grams, so the tola price is the live per-gram rate multiplied by 11.664. The same applies to a troy ounce, which is 31.1035 grams.
- Is there VAT on silver in Saudi Arabia?
- Silver jewellery and silverware are charged 15% VAT when you buy them. Qualifying investment-grade silver sold as bullion bars or coins can be treated differently for VAT, so confirm the treatment with the dealer before paying.
- Which purity should I buy for jewellery?
- 925 sterling is the usual choice for jewellery and silverware because it is hard enough for daily wear while still being 92.5% pure. 999 fine silver is softer and is mostly used for bars, coins and investment pieces.
- Why is silver so much cheaper than gold?
- Silver is far more abundant and annual mine output is much larger, and a big share of demand is industrial rather than investment. Both metals are quoted the same way per troy ounce, so the difference comes purely from the market price.
