Saudi Arabia Fuel Prices
Official Saudi Aramco pump prices per litre for gasoline 91, 95 and 98, diesel and kerosene, plus GASCO gas cylinder rates. Prices are uniform across every region, so the number you see here is the number you pay in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam.
How Saudi fuel prices are set
Saudi Aramco publishes retail prices for petrol on the tenth of each month and the new rates take effect on the eleventh. The prices are the same nationwide — there is no regional variation between regions, cities or remote areas.
Petrol grades 91 and 95 have sat under a government price cap since July 2021, which is why those two grades move rarely and by small amounts. Diesel follows a different path: it has been reviewed once a year in January since the annual review mechanism started in 2022.
The prices shown here are the official published rates and include the 15% value added tax that applies in the Kingdom.
Diesel and the annual review
Diesel was fixed at SAR 0.25 per litre for decades before the Vision 2030 subsidy reform raised it to SAR 0.45 in 2015. Each annual review since 2022 has moved it further as the Kingdom phases out energy subsidies.
Because diesel is reviewed annually rather than monthly, it can jump in one step: the largest single revision on record here is the increase to SAR 1.15 per litre in 2024.
Kerosene and LPG products follow their own schedules published by Aramco and GASCO rather than the monthly petrol announcement.
Choosing the right grade and filling up
Gasoline 91 suits most standard vehicles sold in Saudi Arabia. Gasoline 95 is the right choice for newer or European-spec engines that specify 95 RON or higher, and 98 is reserved for high-performance engines.
Check the owner's manual rather than guessing — using a higher octane than the engine needs does not improve performance, and using a lower one can cause knocking.
The fill-up estimator on this page multiplies the official price by the litres you enter, so you can price a full tank before you drive to the station.
Frequently asked questions
- What are the current fuel prices in Saudi Arabia?
- Gasoline 91 is the cheapest pump grade and gasoline 95 sits just above it, with gasoline 98 for performance engines. Diesel and kerosene are cheaper per litre than petrol. The exact figures for the current schedule are listed in the price table on this page.
- When does Aramco update fuel prices?
- Petrol prices are announced on the tenth of each month and become effective on the eleventh. Diesel is different: it is reviewed once a year, in January, under the annual review mechanism introduced in 2022.
- Why does diesel keep rising while petrol barely moves?
- Petrol grades 91 and 95 are held under a government price cap introduced in July 2021 to protect consumers, while diesel follows a cost-reflective annual review as part of the Vision 2030 energy reform programme.
- Are fuel prices the same in every Saudi city?
- Yes. Aramco sets a single national price, so Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Makkah, Madinah and remote areas all pay exactly the same rate per litre.
- How much does an 11 kg gas cylinder cost?
- The current GASCO rate for the standard 11 kg household cylinder is shown in the gas products table on this page, along with the 5 kg cylinder and the per-litre refill rate. These prices also apply nationwide.
- Which petrol grade should I use?
- Gasoline 91 for most standard cars, 95 for engines that specify 95 RON or above, and 98 for high-performance vehicles. Your owner's manual is the final word on what your engine requires.
